Fast And Easy Weight Loss Using Diet Programs And Diet Pills

If you’re one of the approximately 67% of Americans that are wired into the internet, there’s a excellent chance that sometime in the last 24 hours you’ve received at least one spam email promoting the latest and greatest diet pill or weight loss program. These diet products promise quick weight loss results, often without any effort or exercise. The never-ending promise of a weight loss pill that really works keeps us hoping for eventual success.
At the same time, we’re continually inundated with news of the most recent diet and how this time it’s really going to work for us. The South Beach Diet, the Zone Diet, the Atkins Diet, the Low Carb Diet, the Cabbage Soup Diet, the Mediterranean Diet, the LA Weight Loss Diet, the Weight Watchers Diet, the Diabetic Diet, the Low Cholesterol Diet, the Prescription Pill Diet, the 3 Day Diet, the Low Stout Diet, the High Protein Diet, the Maker Diet, the Liquid Diet, the Grapefruit Diet, the Fad Diet, the Blood Type Diet, the GI Diet, the Vegetarian Diet, the Vegan Diet, the Detox Diet, the Dash Diet, the Candida Diet, the Gluten Free Diet, the Hollywood Diet, the Negative Calorie Diet, the 1200 Calorie Diet, the Raw Food Diet, the Phentermine Diet, the High Fiber Diet, the Macrobiotic Diet, the Science Diet, the Lemonade Diet, the Scarsdale Diet, the Diverticulitis Diet and the Stout Flush Diet are all examples of diet plans that promise to help us achieve quick weight loss.
Crash diets, weight loss pills and get-thin-quick gimmicks are more prevalent than ever, yet two-thirds of our population is still overweight. Even more startling is the fact that approximately one-third of the people in our country are clinically obese.
With all of these ‘solutions’ available to us, why is it that obesity trends have been alarming enough to prompt the Centers For Disease Control (CDC) to mark obesity a national epidemic? Why are we still, as a nation, getting fatter? It’s certainly not because we’re not trying.
On the contrary, as a nation we’re trying harder than ever to lose stout through diet and other weight loss products. As reported by CNN on 1-14-05 “Americans were expected to spend more than $40 billion in 2004 on weight control pills, gym memberships, diet plans and related foods, estimates Marketdata Enterprises, which studies the weight loss industry.” Furthermore, statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) indicate that 80 percent of overweight individuals and nearly 87 percent of obese individuals are trying to lose or maintain their weight.
As reported by mygoals.com, 80 percent of Americans made a New Year’s resolution in 2005. A whopping 26 percent of those resolutions were to improve overall health and fitness, making this the top category for self-improvement. This year was no anomaly, either, according to Amy O’Connor, deputy editor of Prevention magazine: “Fifty-nine million people every year resolve to lose weight.”
So, is there a healthy diet product out there that will really work? More than likely, the answer is yes. Although there is quite a bit of fraudulent weight loss merchandise on the market today, there is also (somewhere out there) a diet program and weight loss plot that will work for us. The challenge is to find that diet product or diet plot.
-> Repeat Business:
The diet and weight loss industry is a huge money making machine. According to Marketdata Enterprises, the annual revenue for the diet industry was over $30 billion dollars in 1990. A 2005 report by Stanford University documents that the consumer diet industry is now approximately $44 billion and growing. With all this money flowing around, haven’t we as a country spent enough to fix the obesity problem once and for all?
How can the diet industry keep making more and more money, year after year? After all, $44 billion dollars is a lot of cash! The answer to that question is simple: repeat business. “98% of today’s dieters gain the weight back in 5 years. 90% of those individuals end up gaining back more than they lost originally, due to the body’s panic and efforts to stabilize metabolic rates over the long term” (Source: Stanford University; stanford.edu).
How do the diet-promoters get all that repeat business? The diet industry is a very unique enterprise in that, when it fails someone, they rarely blame the product. We are hard-pressed to find another business where, if the product doesn’t work, we blame ourselves. All too often, after giving up on yet another diet program, we find ourselves thinking “Well, I guess I’m just not a excellent enough dieter.” The tendency is for us to believe that we failed the diet rather than the other way around.
Apply this same logic to the automotive industry, and it soon becomes clear just how faulty this line of reasoning really is. What would happen if we take our car in to the mechanic for repairs and when we returned to pick it up he told us that although we still had to pay the bill, he was unable to fix the problem? Would we willing pay the bill anyway and just say “Oh well, I guess it’s just a terrible car?” Of course not! That would be ridiculous! But that’s exactly what we do when it comes to diets.
-> One Size Does Not Fit All:
What we need to realize is that there is probably a weight loss product or weight loss plot out there that will work for us, but it may not be the same one our friends or co-workers used. To find the best weight loss program for us, we absolutely must realize that one size does not fit all. What worked for our sibling or spouse may not work for us, and what works for us may not work for them.
It’s probably safe to say that any diet supplement has helped somebody, but it’s also right that no weight loss drug or plot has helped everybody. Each person has a unique metabolism and very individual nutritional needs, so no single plot will work for everyone.
-> How To Find The Right Weight Loss Diet:
Some stout burner products on the market today do indeed work. Others are a complete rip-off. How do you tell the difference? Where do you go for accurate and reliable weight loss information?
First and foremost, talk with your doctor. Your own personal physician is likely to be honest with you and provide you with the facts. In addition, he or she can help you choose which weight loss supplement may be right for your personal situation.
There are also quite a few reputable organizations that provide accurate information on stout loss. Some of the better resources include:
* American Cancer Society – www.cancer.org
* Centers For Disease Control – www.cdc.gov
* Diet Scam Watch – www.dietscam.org
* Calories Per Hour – www.caloriesperhour.com
* Harvard Medical School – www.health.harvard.edu
* Mayo Clinic – www.mayoclinic.org
* Shape Up America – www.shapeup.org
* Calorie Control Council – www.caloriecontrol.org
* President’s Council On Physical Fitness – www.fitness.gov
When seeking a healthy weight loss plot, it’s vital that no food be strictly forbidden. There should not be any (or many) foods that we avoid completely 100% of the time. Why? Because that sets us up for failure! For example, if fudge is one of our favorites and we force ourselves to NOT eat fudge at the holiday party, then for many of us what we’ve done is set ourselves up for a binge fudge-festival.
Avoiding our favorite foods entirely is a too much self-deprivation for most people, and this sets us up for binge-eating. That’s a recipe for disaster!
A much better approach is to delight in foods in moderation. Watch those serving sizes! Delight in and savor one piece of fudge! It’s better to delight in one piece of fudge and then stop than attempt to deprive ourselves entirely, only to end up eating the whole pan.
A excellent diet and nutrition program will also help us keep in mind the cost of the foods we eat. We’re not talking about dollars and cents here, but the FITNESS cost of the food. When picking up that fudge, keep in mind what it will cost to delight in it. When picking up a plate at the buffet table, let’s take a moment to pause and reckon to ourselves: “The cost of this fudge will be an extra _____ minutes of exercise…..is that worth it to me?” Maybe. Maybe not. That’s for each of us to choose on our own.
The point is that we should be conscious of our food decisions. No foods are forbidden entirely, but we do need to watch our part sizes and carefully consider the cost of each food. Any excellent weight management program will incorporate these concepts and also will be approved by your doctor.
-> How To Find The Right Weight Loss Supplement:
Perhaps even more so than with weight loss diets, when searching for weight loss supplements it is critical to rely on the advice of your physician. The careful and supervised use of weight loss diet pills, combined with a sensible diet and regular exercise, can lead to quick weight loss and even simple weight loss (or at least simpler than you expected).
Beware, but, the supplement scams on the market. It seems that every time we turn around we are blasted and bombarded with the latest, greatest, new and improved treatment for obesity. The gimmicks just keep coming. The sad truth is that few of these products work. Even fewer will result in real, permanent and lasting stout loss. A very few of the weight loss gimmicks on the market today are not only a consumer rip-off, but they are also quite perilous…..even deadly.
As an example, consider the prescription diet drug Meridia. Does it help you lose weight? For some people, the answer is yes. For others, the answer is no. Can it kill you? The answer to this question seems to be a nervous ‘maybe’. “The consumer group Public Citizen had petitioned the Food and Drug Administration for a ban, citing Meridia users who died of heart problems as young as their 20s and 30s. Even before Meridia was approved for sale, the FDA knew it could increase users’ blood pressure, the group contended.” (Source: cnn.com)
This week the FDA again refused to ban Meridia, even though whistleblower David Graham (an FDA drug safety officer) testified to Congress last fall that his agency was allowing five unsafe medicines to stay on the market, including Meridia.
Another example of a perilous weight loss drug is ephedra. Ephedra was banned in the United States last year, in part due to numerous deaths attributed to this well loved weight loss supplement. On April 14 2005, a federal Judge in Utah reversed the small-lived ban on ephedra. Within minutes, spammers were filling our email boxes with messages to BUY BUY BUY before ephedra was banned again.
Yes, ephedra will help some people lose weight. Yes, ephedra is safe for some people in low doses. But there is that small nagging fact that people have DIED and that their deaths have been attributed to ephedra use…..
Yet another example of a perilous diet drug is steroids. For whatever reason, some people have chose that anabolic steroids are the best way to lose weight. Despite the well-documented and serious side-effects of steroid use, the lure of simple weight loss has caused many to throw caution to the wind. Perhaps the most concerning trend is steroid use among our teenage population: “Teens also listed steroids, growth hormone, amino acids and other potentially unhealthful products among those they’d tried in the previous year.” (Source: cnn.com)
There do exist, but, some diet supplements that work and are also quite safe. Again, it is never a excellent thought to start any supplementation program without first seeking the advice and approval of your doctor.
Three well loved and dependable stout loss products designed to help you lose weight quick are ChromeMate, Lipotropic Plus and Super L-Carnitine.
Chromium helps insulin metabolize stout, turn protein into muscle and convert sugar into energy. ChromeMate, a unique form of niacin-bound chromium, is designed to optimize energy output. It accomplishes this by increasing the amount of glucose available for energy production nearly twenty-fold. It also is the “master” nutrient for controlling blood sugar, which in turn curbs sugar cravings. What’s more, a study at Auburn University showed that ChromeMate reduced LDL cholesterol by an average of 14%. In fact, ChromeMate has been awarded a patent for lowering cholesterol.
The Lipotropic Plus Formula is scientifically-engineered to help in the breakdown, distribution and burning (oxidation) of fatty acids. The active ingredients really accelerate the stout-burning process by breaking down stout cells into smaller particles (emulsification) to be used for fuel during exercise.
Super L-Carnitine is essential for stout burning. I.B. Fritz and K.T.N. Yue, physiologists from the University of Michigan, learned that Carnitine really accelerates stout-burning. Without it, stout is unable to penetrate the walls of the mitochondria of the muscle cells. Carnitine is the shuttle that carries stout into your body’s furnaces (muscles) to be burned for energy. Super L-Carnitine increases the rate of stout utilization for fuel.
-> Weight Loss Exercise:
In this article we’ve been discussing weight loss diets and weight loss supplements. At this point it is essential that we add the third and most vital component of overall health and fitness: exercise.
Exercise is one weight loss method that has never been banned, has never led to an investigation, and has never been been listed on a ‘whistleblower’ fraud report.
Exercise is the only path to health and fitness that virtually every doctor in the world agrees upon. Exercise is safe, effective, and brings many more benefits to our lives than diets or drugs ever will alone. Exercise is fun, invigorating, motivating and the single most powerful way to improve our life and well-being!
Yes, it’s quite possible to lose weight without participating in regular exercise. But, diet and exercise combined will help us burn stout quicker than we thought possible! Weight loss achieved by regular exercise and diet will be healthy weight loss because of all the benefits we obtain from regular exercise:
1. Strengthens muscles
2. Strengthens bone
3. Strengthens ligaments
4. Strengthens tendons
5. Strengthens immune system
6. Improves muscle tone
7. Improves endurance
8. Improves strength
9. Improves self esteem
10. Improves confidence
11. Improves balance
12. Improves physical appearance
13. Improves physical performance
14. Improves glucose tolerance
15. Improves circulation
16. Improves memory
17. Lower risk of heart disease
18. Lower risk of diabetes
19. Lower risk of cancer
20. Lower blood pressure
21. Lower cholesterol
22. Lower risk of stroke
23. Lower risk of osteoporosis
24. Lower risk of osteoarthritis
25. Lower requirements for medication
26. Lower risk of injury
27. Lower bodyfat
28. Helps with sleep disorders
29. Reduces post-operative complications
30. Reduces frequency of illness
31. Prevent Alzheimer’s disease
32. Prevents muscle loss
33. Increases metabolism
34. Eases symptoms of menopause
35. Healthier pregnancy
36. Fewer problems with childbirth
37. Reduces ovulation problems
38. Prevents heartburn
Reaching your ideal weight via a healthy and active lifestyle has been found to lower health risks and medical problems in 90 percent of overweight patients. In addition to the exercise benefits listed above, fit people are eight times less likely to die from cancer than the unfit, and 53 percent less likely to die from other diseases. Fit people are also eight times less likely to die from heart disease.
Without a doubt, regular exercise is the most vital piece of the puzzle and the best way to achieve rapid weight loss. Exercise is the safest way to achieve permanent stout loss, and when combined with a sound diet and nutrition program the body is turned into a virtual stout-burning furnace!
-> Conclusion:
Quick weight loss is possible if we, under the supervision and approval of our doctor, combine a sensible diet with a diet pill or weight loss pill that is safe and effective. When we combine these three stout-burning strategies it is nearly guaranteed that we will experience quick weight loss results.

Greening Men

If it’s green fibrous and doesn’t taste like meat, men won’t eat it. Sometimes, even the poor red tomato and orange or carrot fails the test that white and red meat always passes with flying colours. Most males are self-professed carnivores who refuse to touch their vegetables even if you tell them it can prevent cancer of the colon, heart disease and obesity.
Small of turning vegetarian, men can still fill up on vegetable if they know how to pick and cook the right meals. Here, we show you how simple it is to get those vegetables into your food without feeling like you’re munching on grass.
Play Hide and Seek
Tomatoes are rich in lycopene, an anti-cancer nutrient that helps protect against heart disease and stomach cancer. Men who eat 10 parts of tomato based food every week can help reduce their risk of developing prostate cancer by up to 45%.
New research also suggest that tomatoes can help prevent lung cancer as two compounds found in tomatoes are said to block the effects of carcinogens found in tobacco smoke.
If you don’t like the taste of tomatoes, hide them in between slices of healthy whole-meals bread in a lean chicken sandwich. Or have a bowl of pasta covered in loads of lycopene-rich tomato sauce.
Roasted Pepper Rock
Most men can’t cook but they sure can make a mean barbecue. Amidst the sausages, lamb and chicken wings roasted on the rack, throw in a few red peppers (capsicum). When the skin of the peppers start to turn black, peel them away to reveal the sweet, juicy flesh beneath.
Red peppers are rich in beta carotene and vitamin C, which help to promote healthy skin and hair and prevent colds. Beta carotene also reduces the possibility of stout depositing itself in the blood vessels.
If you run out of tomatoes to place in your sandwich, try substituting them with roasted red peppers. Red peppers also taste tasty in spring rolls. If you’re feeling adventurous, have a bowl of noodles with chicken, cashew nuts and red peppers.
Booster Shot
Night blindness can be caused by lack of beta carotene helps you to build up your immune system and protect your body against infections diseases.
Carrots help replace the loss of Vitamin C caused by stress, cigarette smoke and pollution. In ancient Greek times, men drank carrot juice to increase their sexual appetite.
If you don’t like munching on carrots a la Bugs Bunny, try replenishing your body with carrot juice mixed with orange or apple after a gym workout.
Play Popeye
Spinach will won’t help you grow instant muscles like Popeye but it will help you maintain healthy blood and muscles. Spinach is one of the richest plant sources of iron and can help prevent anaemia which is caused by an insufficient intake of iron. Vitamin-C rich spinach also helps reduce eye infections and disorder like dry, irritated eyes. This dark green leafy vegetable is also helpful if you suffered from discoloured, irregular shaped nails. Spinach contains folate which gives nails that healthy, pink sheen and prevents white spots.
Order Pizza
Whenever they feel a sniffle coming on, the French always turn to their homemade recipe of hot onions aren’t just found in soups, they’re everywhere in pizzas, flans, salads, quiche and even baked fish.
Onions are also said to slow down the aging process and inhabit the natural breakdown of bone, helping to prevent against osteoporosis. The humble bulb also contains natural antiseptic and antibiotics properties that help repair tissue and cell hurt in the skin.
The Goodness of Greens
Vegetables are rich in fibre and vitamins, nutrition-rich ingredients that help prevent free-radical hurt within the body. This lessens your risk of developing cancer and helps preserve your youth as it boosts the formations of skin collagen and elastin fibres.

Serve an Easy Lenten Meal

To be sure meatless meals are nutritious, simply follow the Food Guide Pyramid. Because they have such high-quality protein, eggs are a meat alternate and make a excellent Lenten choice. They’re also one of the simplest foods to cook in a rush. For a balanced meal, simply combine the eggs with a grain and veggies. Then, for a dairy serving, add cheese or serve with milk.
Just grab a pot or pan, a spoon and some eggs and consider your options. If your family enjoys Latin foods, you might heat up a can of vegetarian refried beans and spread them on tortillas. Top with poached, fried or scrambled eggs and let everyone add their own choice of lettuce, tomato, avocado, shredded cheese or salsa. Another meal, serve a vegetable-based soup with comforting egg salad between slices of whole wheat bread, on bagel halves or in pita pockets. For dessert, offer fruit topped with yogurt.
On an especially busy night, combine all the ingredients in one pan to make a handy skillet supper. For Dijon Rice & Egg Skillet Supper, use rice from the bottom of the Pyramid, your choice of frozen veggies from the next tier and eggs – nature’s own convenience food – in place of meat. Season with ready-made condiments and, in small order, you’ll have a hearty dinner on the table.
Dijon Rice & Egg Skillet Supper
2 to 4 servings
2 cups water
1 cup uncooked rice
1/2 cup bottled non-stout Italian
salad dressing
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
2 cups frozen vegetable
blend, thawed
4 eggs
Parsley sprigs, optional
In 10-inch skillet with lid, cook rice in water according to package directions. Meanwhile, in small bowl, stir together dressing and mustard until well blended. Stir dressing mixture and vegetables into cooked rice. With back of spoon, make 4 indentations in rice mixture. Break and slip an egg into each indentation. Cover. Cook over medium heat until whites are completely set and yolks start to thicken but are not hard, about 3 to 4 minutes. Garnish with parsley, if desired.
Microwave: Cook rice in water as above. Meanwhile, in small bowl, stir together dressing and mustard until well blended. Stir dressing mixture and vegetables into cooked rice. Transfer to 9-inch pie plate. With back of spoon, make 4 indentations in rice mixture. Break and slip an egg into each indentation. Gently prick yolks with tip of knife or wooden pick. Cover with lid or plastic wrap. Cook on full power, rotating 1/4 turn every 2 minutes, until eggs are nearly done, about 6 to 8 minutes. Let stand, covered, until whites are completely set and yolks start to thicken but are not hard, about 2 to 3 minutes. Garnish as above. Note: Microwave cooking times are based on a full power output of 600 to 700 watts. For a lower wattage oven, allow more time.
Nutrient information per 1/4 recipe using green beans, peas, carrots and zucchini without parsley: calories 285, total stout 5 gm, cholesterol 213 mg, sodium 476 mg, potassium 274 mg, carbohydrate 45 gm, protein 11 gm, and 10% or more of the RDI for vitamin A and C, riboflavin, thiamin, niacin, iron, phosphorus

Eat Your Way to Better Poker II ? Remember These Foods to Improve Your Memory

Eat your way to better poker II – Remember these foods to improve your memory
“Are you telling me there is something I can eat to improve my memory?” Yes, we are! And we don’t just mean that eating your Auntie’s chicken noodle soup will bring back memories of summer. By eating certain foods regularly, you will improve your brain’s ability to record new memories and to access them quickly, keeping your brain young and ready to learn.
How does it work?
As the brain ages, it loses the ability to protect itself from daily wear and tear, particularly inflammation (swelling)and oxidation, a process which allows damaging free radicals to attach themselves to cells. In addition to this, brain cells often stop communicating with each other as people age, making it harder for the brain to process thoughts, retain small-term memory and make new cells.
“Ancient neurons are like ancient married couples — they don’t talk to each other very much anymore. They just sit in the room with the remote and stare at the TV,” says Dr. James Joseph, director of the Neuroscience Lab at the Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts University in Boston.
While research in the field of aging and nutrition is just beginning, scientists have found that diet may help minimize the brain’s sensitivity to oxidation and inflammation, as well as improve brain cells’ ability to communicate with each other. This means that by eating correctly you may keep your brain younger, more nimble, and better able to remember.
We will now walk you through several chemicals which have been learned to improve your memory and general brain condition, not to mention your health and looks!
Antioxidants:
We have just read that the brain ages because of oxidation and inflammation, which happen because of the brain’s high demands of oxygen for its daily functioning. Now listen to this: if what you want is to minimize inflammation and oxidation, you could do worse than eating lots of antioxidants. These natural chemicals give plants their bright colors, and are especially effective at – you guessed it! – preventing oxidation.
A study involving 70 beagles showed that dogs which had been fed an antioxidant-rich diet over several years performed better in ancient age than their fellows who had eaten a standard diet. These ancient dogs COULD learn new tricks! Now, we are not calling anyone an “ancient dog”, but while we all wish we were Annette Obrestad, most of us have already left our teenage years behind and are heading towards Doyle Brunson and Dewey Tomko at this stage. This is why it is so vital to get an edge nutrition-wise over all the middle-aged competition out there in the tables, not to mention all those plucky youngsters! So what should you eat to keep your brain as active and healthy as those beagles?
As we said earlier, antioxidants give plants their bright colors, so any bright-colored vegetable or fruit is a excellent bet. Since we really want you to start eating better, we have compiled a list to make your shopping simpler. For best results, try to eat at least 5 (but preferably 9) parts of these foods daily. Don’t underestimate the power of vegetables – remember that Daniel Negreanu is a vegetarian, who brings home-cooked vegan packed lunches to huge tournaments and has the success rate we all wish we had.
The “veg-o-phobes” among you may already be saying “why should I eat all those horrid green things when I can have my cake and take a supplement instead?” We are very sorry, but that just won’t do – most researchers agree that antioxidants present in food are significantly more effective than those from supplements! Reckon salads are for rabbits? In that case try adding vegetables to your stews, pasta dishes and stir-fries, or blend fruits and yogurt for tasty and nutritious smoothies that will keep you running through those all-night online tourneys!

Medifast Diet Review, a Scam or Does it Work?
July 18, 2010 by admin
The Medifast plot is a meal delivery service that offers to takes all the guess work out of shopping, counting calories, even cooking. For over 20 years, the plot sends meal replacements directly to dieter’s homes. The meal plot consists of shakes, bars, and soups. Medifast boasts a menu of over 70 choices.
To follow the plot you will consume 5 prepared meals and 1 “Lean and Green Meal.” This is known as the Medifast 5 & 1. The meal consists of 7 ounces of lean protein with a tablespoon of your favorite condiment. Then you have a choice of a side item, including salad greens, raw or cooked vegetables with the meal. Followers must eat every 2-3 hours, drink a minimum of 64 ounces of water, and find time for daily exercise.
The website helps guide you through the process, although the medifast plot suggests having your doctor supervise your stay on the plot. The plot can meet many needs, low-glycemic, lactose-free, kosher, and even vegetarian.
More than 15,000 doctors have referred medifast to their patients. The medifast basic plot cost 140.50 for 70 meals. This will last for two weeks. The Medifast Diet has an online weight loss diet program that acts as a diet center. Members pay a fee for access to meal trackers, message boards, physician search, bmi calculator, live chat, and various support material downloads.
What we like about this plot It is perfect for the very busy dieter. The meals are pre prepackaged, somewhat reasonable in cost, with a wide variety of menus. The diet is doctor recommended. It has an simple to use website with support and success tales. It supports exercise. It is clinically proven to support the 2-5 pounds a week claim. The plot aims to help the dieters plot a maintenance plot.
What We Dislike about this Plot This plot is very low carb and low in calories. It is a very strict plot. Some people find the taste of medifast products bland. While others find them mildly repulsive in the beginning. Some people find it hard to follow the medifast plot in the first few days of the program. There is no eating out with this plot.
How healthy is this plot? Technically, it is healthy. The meals have sufficient minerals and vitamins to be healthy. The Lean and Green meal will give you a whole foods meal that provides fiber and non processed eating. It’s rare to find a medically based weight loss company that’s been around this long.
Medifast has helped people lose weight for 28 years. The Medifast program was developed for medical reasons by Johns Hopkins doctors for patients who had to lose weight quick before undergoing cardiac surgery. John Hopkins University study suggests that the Medifast plot helps participants quickly and safely lose weight by decreasing the amount of calories consumed.
The study also suggests that participants with Type 2 Diabetes lost twice as much as much weight compared to individuals following the American Diabetes Association’s recommendation. Additionally, Medifast shows results in participants with other illnesses.
Here is the Bottom Line The Medifast Diet is the best diet for dieters who have distress controlling their parts and what they eat. With pre-made meals that dieters order online, dieters have their meals with the right parts and nutrients already plotted out for them. Once dieters get a perception of right parts and nutrients, and see the results through their weight loss, they can reduce the number of Medifast meals they eat and start cooking healthy foods for themselves.
It is vital that dieters leaving the Medifast Diet find nutritious diet recipes to help them in their healthy cooking. Pre-packed engineered food is not the best way to go, but Medifast seems to be the best one in this class of diets. So, if you are very overweight and struggling with part control, give this plot a try. But do not forget to explore the emotional aspects of overeating before you start to eat a normal, healthy maintenance plot. It might just make you the next Medifast success tale.

How I discovered 10 amazing super foods
July 18, 2010 by admin
Edited by Super Foods boy and partially published on http://blog.organicbeautyfood.com
Exclusive literature used for a Beauty Foods Workshop hosted at Lifefood Gourmet, in Miami.
I have collected information for a long time about the magic and benefits of those foods from which one only needs small amount to provide the body with the minimum recommended intake of minerals & nutrients, Super Foods. Most of the foods listed below are available at the natural health store down the street from you, but you can order online at http://shop.organicbeautyfood.com
I am not a doctor, so don’t take this text as the total truth. Each individual may respond different to these foods.
I am pleased to present below some of the “medications” that your doctor will rarely prescribe:
10 SUPERFOODS
1. Blue-Green Algae, Spirulina and Chlorella: Blue-green micro algae, and its cousins spirulina and chlorella, grow on inland waters throughout the world. This primordial food is visible as greenish scum on still lakes and ponds. The Aztecs ate it as a staple food, dried and spread on tortillas. Africans of the Sahara region also use dried spirulina with grains and vegetables. These algae are high in protein, carotenoids and minerals. Beware, but, of claims that they can provide vitamin B12 in vegetarian diets. Nevertheless, the high mineral and protein content of the various algae make them an brilliant super food, a excellent supplement to the diet and a useful product for the treatment of a variety of health problems.
2. Bee Pollen: Bee pollen has been popularized by well-known athletes who take it regularly for strength and endurance. It has been used successfully to treat a variety of ailments including allergies, asthma, menstrual irregularities, constipation, diarrhea, anemia, low energy, cancer, rheumatism, arthritis and toxic conditions. A Russian study of the inhabitants of the province of Georgia, where many live to 100 years and a few to age 150, revealed that many of these centenarians were beekeepers who often ate raw, unprocessed honey with all its “impurities,” that is, with the pollen. Bee pollen contains 22 amino acids including the eight essential ones, 27 minerals and the full gamut of vitamins, hormones and fatty acids. Most importantly, bee pollen contains more than 5,000 enzymes and coenzymes. It is the presence of enzymes, many of which have immediate detoxifying effects, that sometimes provokes allergic reactions in those taking bee pollen for the first time. If this happens, start with very small amounts and slowly build up to a tablespoon or so per day. Some brands are more easily tolerated than others. Avoid pollen that has been dried at temperatures higher than 130 degrees. Bee pollen can be taken in powder, capsule or tablet form.or in raw unprocessed honey mixed with cereal or spread on toast.
3. Aloe Vera: Aloe vera has anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and anti-viral properties. This energy tonic contains protein, calcium, magnesium, zinc, vitamins A, B12 and E, essential fatty acids and is naturally rich in:
Vitamin C which helps maintain tone of blood vessels and promotes excellent circulation and is essential to the health of the adrenal gland which supports our body in times of stress.
Amino acids which are chains of atoms constructing protein in our body.
Enzymes, which are the life-principle in every live, organic atom and molecule of natural raw food, rejuvenate aged tissues and promote healthy skin.
Germanium which is a mineral that some health authorities claim therapeutic benefits for: immunodeficiency, pain, cardiac disorders, circulatory disturbances and eye problems.
4. Garlic: Garlic is one of the earth’s greatest health tonics and does indeed have scientifically-proven medicinal properties. It contains a substance called Allicin, which has anti-bacterial properties that are equivalent to a weak penicillin. It is a natural antibiotic and is useful in treating everything from allergies to tonsillitis. Garlic contains many sulfur compounds which:
detoxify the body
boost the immune system
lower blood pressure
improve circulation.
Garlic has also demonstrated anti-cancer, antibacterial, anti-fungal and anti-oxidant effects.
Garlic: Garlic has antioxidant properties. Antioxidants help scavenge free radicals; particles that can hurt cell membranes, interact with genetic material and possibly contribute to the aging process as well as the development of a number of conditions including heart disease and cancer.
Free radicals occur naturally in the body but environmental toxins (including ultraviolet light, radiation, cigarette smoking and air pollution) can also increase the number of these damaging particles. Antioxidants can neutralize free radicals and may reduce or even help prevent some of the hurt they cause over time.
Garlic can stimulate the production of glutathione, an amino acid which is known to be a very potent antioxidant and de-toxifier and the smooth muscle relaxant adenosine, also found in the herb, will lower blood pressure.
Today people use garlic to help prevent atherosclerosis (plaque build up in the arteries causing blockage and possibly leading to heart attack or stroke), reduce colds, coughs and bronchitis.
Garlic has been used to treat:
Atherosclerosis: Studies suggest that fresh garlic and garlic supplements may prevent blood clots and ruin plaque. Blood clots and plaque block blood flow and contribute to the development of atherosclerosis. Blockage of blood flow to the heart, brain and legs, can lead to heart attack, stroke, or peripheral vascular disease (PVD). People with PVD experience pain in the legs when they walk and go. If garlic does reduce the build up of plaque then strokes, heart attacks and PVD may be less likely to occur in people who eat garlic or take garlic supplements.
High Cholesterol and High Blood Pressure: A number of studies have found that garlic reduces elevated total cholesterol levels and lowers blood pressure more effectively than placebo. But, the extent to which garlic is effective is small.
Diabetes: Garlic has been used as a traditional dietary supplement for diabetes in Asia, Europe and the Middle East. Preliminary studies in rabbits, rats and limited numbers of people have demonstrated that garlic has some ability to lower blood sugars. More research in this area is needed. (See Notes regarding some concern about using garlic with certain diabetes medications.)
Common Cold: A well-designed study of nearly 150 people supports the value of garlic for preventing and treating the common cold. In this study, people received either garlic supplements or placebo for 12 weeks during “cold season” (between the months of November and February). Those who received the garlic had significantly fewer colds than those who received placebo. Plus, when faced with a cold, the symptoms lasted a much shorter time in those receiving garlic compared to those receiving placebo.
Cancer: Test tube and animal studies suggest that garlic may have some anti-cancer activity. Observational, population-based studies (which follow groups of people over time) suggest that people who have more raw or cooked garlic in their diet are less likely to have certain types of cancer, particularly colon and stomach cancers. Dietary garlic may also offer some protection against the development of breast, prostate and laryngeal (throat) cancers. But, these types of cancer have not been as extensively studied as colon and stomach cancer.
Tuberculosis: Numerous test tube studies have demonstrated that garlic extract inhibits the growth of different species of bacteria, including Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the organism responsible for tuberculosis. Very high concentrations of garlic extract were needed to slow down the growth of M. tuberculosis in these studies, so some experts are concerned that these levels may be toxic to people. While further research in people is needed, one animal study found that garlic oil also inhibited M. tuberculosis and reduced lesions in the lungs of these animals.
Intestinal Parasites: Laboratory studies suggest that large quantities of fresh, raw garlic may have antiparasitic properties against the roundworm, Ascaris lumbricoides, which is the most common type of intestinal parasite. Garlic for this purpose, but, has not yet been tested in people.
Vital Note:
Garlic can irritate the digestive tracts of very young children and some sources don’t recommend garlic for breast feeding mothers. In addition, some individuals are allergic to garlic.
5. Hempseed oil or Black Currant Oil: These oils contain a fatty acid called gamma-linolenic acid or GLA, which the body produces from omega-6 linoleic acid by the action of special enzymes. In many individuals the production or effectiveness of this enzyme is compromised, especially as they grow older. These oils have been shown to increase liver function and mental acuity. Malnutrition, consumption of hydrogenated oils and diabetes inhibit the conversion of omega-6 linoleic acid to GLA.
GLA-rich oils have been used to treat:
cancer
premenstrual syndrome
breast disease
scleroderma
colitis
irritable bowel syndrome
cystic fibrosis
6. Flaxseed oil is an brilliant source of omega-3s. Just 1 teaspoon contains about 2.5 grams, equivalent to more than twice the amount most people get through their diets. Flaxseeds also contain omega-6 fatty acids in the form of linoleic acid; omega-6s are the same healthy fats found in vegetable oils.
One of the EFAs in flaxseed oil, alpha-linolenic acid, is known as an omega-3 fatty acid. Like the omega-3s found in fish, it appears to reduce the risk of heart disease and numerous other ailments.
In addition, flaxseeds are a rich source of lignans, substances that appear to positively affect hormone-related problems. Lignans may also be useful in preventing certain cancers and combating specific bacteria, fungi, and viruses, including those that cause cold sores and shingles.
Specifically, flaxseed oil may help to:
Lower cholesterol
protect against heart disease
control high blood pressure
Counter inflammation associated with gout, lupus and fibrocystic breasts: Omega-3 fatty acids appear to limit the inflammatory reaction associated with these conditions. In cases of lupus, flaxseed oil not only reduces inflammation in the joints, skin and kidneys, but also lowers cholesterol levels that may be elevated by the disease. Taking flaxseed oil for gout may lessen the often sudden and severe joint pain or swelling that is a symptom of this condition. In addition, the ability of omega-3 fatty acids to boost the absorption of iodine–a mineral often found in low levels in women suffering from fibrocystic breasts–makes flaxseed oil potentially valuable for treating this often painful condition.
Control constipation, haemorrhoids, diverticular disorders and gallstones: Because they are high in dietary fibre, ground flaxseeds can help ease the passage of stools and thus relieve constipation, haemorrhoids and diverticular disease. In those with diverticular disease, flaxseeds may also keep intestinal pouches free of waste and thus keep potential infection at bay. Taken for inflammatory bowel disease, flaxseed oil can help to cool inflammation and repair any intestinal tract hurt. In addition, the oil may prevent painful gallstones from developing and even dissolve existing stones.
Treat acne, eczema, psoriasis, sunburn and rosacea: The essential fatty acids in flaxseed oil are largely responsible for its skin-healing powers. Red, itchy patches of eczema, psoriasis and rosacea often respond to the EFA’s anti-inflammatory actions and overall skin-soothing properties. Sunburned skin may heal quicker when treated with the oil as well. In cases of acne, the EFAs encourage thinning of the oily sebum that clogs pores.
Promote healthy hair and nails: The abundant omega-3 fatty acids in flaxseed oil have been shown to contribute to healthy hair growth (in fact, low levels of these acids may cause dry and lackluster locks). Hair problems exacerbated by psoriasis or eczema of the scalp may respond to the skin-revitalizing and anti-inflammatory actions of flaxseed oil as well. Similarly, the oil’s EFAs work to nourish dry or brittle nails, stopping them from cracking or splitting.
Minimise nerve hurt that causes numbness and tingling as well as other disorders: The EFAs in flaxseed oil help in the transmission of nerve impulses, making the oil potentially valuable in treating conditions of numbness and tingling. The oil’s nerve-nourishing actions may also help in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease, a degenerative disorder of the nervous system, and protect against the nerve hurt associated with diabetes and multiple sclerosis.
Reduce cancer risk and guard against the effects of ageing: The lignans in flaxseed oil appear to play a role in protecting against breast, colon, prostate, and perhaps skin cancer. Although further studies are needed, research undertaken at the University of Toronto indicates that women with breast cancer, regardless of the degree of cancer invasiveness, may benefit from treatment with flaxseed oil. Fascinatingly, the oil’s lignans may protect against various effects of ageing as well.
Treat menopausal symptoms, menstrual cramps, female infertility and endometriosis: Because the hormone-balancing lignans and plant estrogens (phytoestrogens) in flaxseed oil help stabilise a woman’s estrogen-progesterone ratio, they can have beneficial effects on the menstrual cycle, and relieve the hot flashes of perimenopause and menopause. Flaxseed oil may also improve uterine function and thus treat fertility problems. In addition, the essential fatty acids in flaxseed oil have been shown to block production of prostaglandins, hormonelike substances that, when released in excess amounts during menstruation, can cause the heavy bleeding associated with endometriosis.
Fight prostate problems, male infertility and impotence: The EFAs in flaxseed oil may help to prevent swelling and inflammation of the prostate, the small gland located below the bladder in males that tends to enlarge with age. Symptoms of such enlargement, such as urgency to urinate, may lessen as a result. The EFAs also play a role in keeping sperm healthy, which may be of value in treating male infertility, and they can improve blood flow to the penis, a boon for those suffering from impotence.
Vital Notes:
Flaxseed oil is also called linseed oil. The industrial types of linseed oil found in hardware stores are not for internal consumption, but. They may contain poisonous additives.
Do not take if pregnant or breast-feeding. Due to lack of information it is advisable to avoid giving flaxseed oil to children under the age of 12.
Women with hormone-dependent conditions such as endometriosis, uterine fibroids, or cancers of the breast, ovaries, or uterus and men with prostate cancer should avoid taking flaxseed products without prior consultation with a doctor.
Flaxseed can block the esophagus or parts of the intestinal tract. Therefore individuals who have had esophageal or intestinal blockages should not use flaxseed.
Side effects associated with taking flaxseed are gastrointestinal complaints such as diarrhea, gas, nausea, and stomach pain. Allergic reactions have been reported by individuals who took flaxseed or flaxseed oil.
In case studies, flaxseed oil has been reported to increase the time blood needs to clot. When it is taken with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs, the effect of the drug may be increased, resulting in uncontrolled bleeding. Antiplatelets include Plavix and Ticlid. Anticoagulants include aspirin, heparin and warfarin. Avoid taking with Danshen, Devil’s Claw, Garlic, Ginger, Ginkgo, Ginseng, Horse Chestnut, Papain, Red Clover or Saw Palmetto. If you take flaxseed, do not take other drugs within 2 hours.
Properties:
Analgesic, anti-estrogenic, anti-inflammatory, cardiotonic, demulcent, emollient, expectorant, laxative, nervine, pectoral, purgative, resolvent.
Flaxseed is beneficial for:
Acne, aging, angina, arthritis and joint inflammation, back pain, bacteria, fungi, and viruses, cancer prevention, cataracts, chronic pain, cold sores, constipation, Crohn’s disease, diverticular disorders, eczema, endometriosis, fatigue, gallstones, gout, hair problems, heart disease prevention, hemorrhoids, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and clogged arteries, impotence, infertility (male & female), kidney stones, lupus, menopause, multiple sclerosis, nail problems, osteoporosis, parkinson’s disease, premenopause, prostate problems, psoriasis, rosacea, shingles, skin health, stroke, sunburn.
7. Maca has traditionally been a staple superfood-food-herb in the harsh cold climates of the high Andes in Peru for thousands of years. Maca grows at an elevation of 11,000-14,000 feet making it likely the highest altitude food-herb crop in the world. The character and properties of maca have been developed by the extreme conditions under which it grows. This makes Maca an brilliant food-herb choice for individuals living in cold climates and/or at high altitudes and/or with extreme lifestyles.
Maca is a member of the cruciferous family of plants. It is a distant relative of the common radish. The maca plant produces leaves that grow close to the ground and the plant produces a small, off-white flower typical to the cruciferous family. The main part of interest for this plant, but, is the radish-like tuberous root. Dried maca powder contains 60% carbohydrates, 9% fiber, and slightly more than 10% protein. It has a higher lipid (stout) content than other root crops (2.2%), of which linoleic acid, palmitic acid and oleic acid are the primary fatty acids, respectively. Maca is rich in calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, potassium, sulfur and iron, and contains trace minerals, including zinc, iodine, copper, selenium, manganese and silica, as well as vitamins B1, B2, C and E. Maca contains nearly 20 amino acids and seven essential amino acids. Maca is also a rich source of sterols, including sitosterol, campestrol, and ergosterol. As a root crop, maca contains five times more protein than a potato and four times more fiber. You may use a tablespoon or more of this powder in smoothies, teas, nut milks, coffee or just about any natural beverage you can reckon of. Maca is a fantastic addition to desserts and sweet treats.
8. Pomegranate juice represents another of the foods recently touted for its health benefits. In some clinical studies, pomegranate juice has been shown to be of significant benefit, especially in the prevention of heart disease. Pomegranate juice has been shown to work well as a blood thinner. Some research has shown it may be an brilliant agent for promoting blood flow to the heart. It also has been shown to reduce plaque in the arteries, and to raise “excellent” levels of cholesterol while helping lower “terrible” cholesterol.
Preliminary research suggests that pomegranate juice may be helpful in preventing heart disease, heart attacks and stroke. Research has also evaluated the antioxidant nature of pomegranate juice and its usefulness in fighting certain forms of cancer. Pomegranate juice has been tentatively shown to reduce incidence of breast and skin cancer. It has also been tested and shown to slow the growth of prostate cancer in mice.
Another fascinating study has evaluated pomegranate juice and osteoarthritis. Pomegranate juice tends to act as an inhibitor on enzymes responsible for damaging cartilege. These studies applied extract of pomegranate directly onto hurt cartilage. More research would have to examine a cause and effect relationship between oral ingestion of pomegranate juice and reduction in cartilage deterioration.
9. Chia is a member of the mint family and grows naturally from the Mojave Desert all the way down Argentina. Chia for centuries was of fantastic economic importance to Native Americans of Southwest and California Coast. It was a major food crop of Aztecs.
Chia Seed is a Excellent Source of: B vitamins, calcium, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, copper.
Nutritional Benefits:
• According to study, Chia possesses the highest percentage of the polyunsaturated fatty acids(linolenic and linoleic) of all crops. Chia seed contain 60% omega 3 fatty acids.
• The protein content of Chia is higher that other nutritional grains. Unlike other grains, it is a complete protein, meaning that it has the appropriate balance of all essential amino acids. About 19 to 23% of chia seed weight is protein.
• Chia seed is high in fiber, a 15 gm serving of chia seeds will provide 4 to 5 gm of fiber. Our body requires at least 35 gm of fiber a day to stay healthy.

• Chia seeds has 2 times more potassium than banana.
• Chia seeds has 3 times more antioxidants than blueberries.
Uses of Chia Seeds: The pleasant and mild aroma of Chia seed makes it a versatile ingredient to any food preparation like baked goods, soup, sandwiches, sauces, smoothies and in recipes where you ordinarily use sesame seeds. Chia can be eaten raw, hydrated or cooked. Use about 1/4 teaspoon per serving.
Ailments wherein Chia Seeds is beneficial; fatigue, weight loss, reduces blood clot, heart disease, diabetes, bone and digestive problems.
10. Hemp seed: Hempseed has been consumed by mankind (and animals) for centuries.
Consumption of hemp oil and hemp seed is ideal for people with low essential fatty acid intake, and also perfect for athletes. It is of course particularly valuable to the veggie/vegan population, and even more so for veggie/vegan athletes, who are always looking for complete protein sources. Other benefits of hemp seed oil include its effect on the skin and the hair, nourishing both on a cellular level. Hemp oil is easily absorbed by the skin and those EFA’s go straight to work!
Hemp needs no pesticides or fertilizers, it’s low maintenance and grows just about anywhere, making it the ideal crop for organic sustainable farming in just about anywhere in the world.
Hempseed: Hemp has 3 unique nutritional factors:
• supplies an ideal balance of Omega 3 and 6 for sustainable human health

Healthy Cooking for Kids

Eating out is one of the most favorite family activities. It improves family bonding and lets parents spend more time with their kids. But have you ever thought of healthy cooking for kids? You can still eat at the dining table and have that same bond, minus the expensive bill and unhealthy food.
Start with the basics. Avoid fried foods. Kids like fried everything. Whether it’s chicken, fries, hotdogs, or burgers- they like it. When cooking these foods, you can either decrease the oil when frying or use healthier alternatives like boiling hotdogs and removing chicken skin. Burgers and fries are to be avoided whenever possible, but if your children crave for it, give them small parts occasionally.
Sweets are one of the main culprits to why children gain weight. Moreover, chocolates and candies make your kids hyperactive. Healthy cooking for kids is not limited to the main courses. You could also make adjustments through the desserts. Replace ice cream and chocolate with fruit shakes or bowls. Blending fresh fruits or making fruit bowls are very healthy and refreshing for your kids.
Replace full cream milk with low-stout milk. Your kids won’t even taste the difference, but will have a major impact on their diet in the long run. When cooking pasta, you could also replace the regular pasta with whole-grain so that they eat healthier. Make the sauce tasty but with no meat. Pesto is one of the healthiest recipes for pasta because it only uses basil and olive oil as the main ingredients. If you must add meat, use chicken instead of pork and beef.
Homemade pizza is healthier than ordering from pizza places. It might take a lot more time to prepare but it’s worth it. Make a vegetarian pizza and let your kids delight in it minus the oil and the unhealthy meat toppings.
Include vegetables in every meal. Whether it is during breakfast, lunch, or dinner- make sure your kid eats veggies. Try with a celery or carrot stick with different dips to encourage your kid. Mashed potatoes could also be used to replace rice. Make sure your kid still eats the right amount of carbohydrates and proteins every day. When packing your kid’s lunch, it’s all about preparation. Cut the veggie parts in different shapes (letters or numbers for the young kids) so that they delight in eating and never realize that they’re eating vegetables.
If your kids are heavy meat-eaters, you can try the veggie burgers that are available in groceries or even come up with your own. For the picky eaters, serve food that are tasty but healthy. You can use different spices for cooking or even mix veggies with soup and add lettuce to sandwiches. These simple tips will help your kids get used to the feel of eating less meat and more fruits and veggies.
Healthy cooking for kids doesn’t mean starving your kids and depriving them of what they want to eat. You can still make eating a fun activity but more nutritional.

Is Healthy Eating Possible on a Budget?
July 17, 2010 by admin
I have heard many times over the years when discussing with people about changing their eating habits, that it is impossible to be healthy on a tight budget. This is a misconception. Convenience foods are generally not healthy and more expensive for what they are. Here are 20 tips that might help you save money, get you eating healthier to reduce inflammation and stiffness.
1) There are always fruit and vegetables that are cheap, especially when they are in season. Supermarkets now have offers on fresh fruit and vegetables – buy one get one free etc.
2) Try local markets they often have cheaply grown local produce that is in season.
3) ‘Pick your own’ can be a very excellent way to get cheap local produce for the freezer.
4) If you are unable to grow your own fresh produce for one reason or another, and you know of someone who does grow their own, offer to buy their surplus (there is always surplus) or trade with them – for instance some sprouts you have grown (see below).
5) Whenever you see anything on offer – prepare it and freeze it.
6) Bought frozen vegetables and fruit can often be cheaper and there is no wastage.
7) Sprouting is a really wonderful way of getting highly nutritious fresh food for pennies. Sprouts can be grown all year round in your kitchen (huge or small), take up nearly no space, no expensive equipment, and next to no time needed. It’s as simple as ABC. Sprouts really are incredible as they can be used in soups, salads, stews, and stir-fries, they are extremely versatile. It is possible to sprout all seeds, whole grains, beans and lentils (simple to digest when eaten this way).
8) Buying fresh herbs is expensive so start a herb garden, they take up very small space and are decorative. Herbs look excellent and will save you a fortune, medicinally and culinary wise. If you don’t have a garden you can grow herbs in window boxes or in pots indoors and/or outdoors. Herbs are very useful as part of any health program. Use them fresh, frozen or dried herbs in cooking or for making teas.
9) Forget the hype avoid any thing with lots of fancy packaging that ends up in the bin, that is only wasted money.
10) Eating more beans and lentils with grains like rice (to get your protein) and cutting down on meat can help the budget, is healthier and increase your life expectancy. Bean and lentils are cheap, extremely versatile and excellent for you.
11) Getting together with 3 to 4 friends, to share the cost of buying things in bulk, this is a very excellent way of cutting costs. The difference in the cost of buying some brown rice for instance in small packets compared to buying a 25lb bag/sack, the saving per person is considerable.
12) Generally homemade food is cheaper and better than pre-pared processed foods. The Internet is full of free recipes and the local library is bursting with cook books from healthy ethnic to vegetarian to raw foods.
13) Saving a small on gas or electricity and time – make two three or four times the amount you need. For instance if you cook some chicken in the oven for dinner, add some extra chicken to eat cold the next day with a salad that includes your home grown herbs and sprouts. Also place another dish or two in the oven at the same time, on another day can just be heated up quickly.
14) Look in the supermarkets for the reduced section, there are always foods that have nearly reached their sell-by-date, you can pick up some incredible bargains, leave the unhealthy ones, just pick up the healthy ones.
15) Breakfast cereals in general are very expensive especially when you reckon of the cost per pound. Eat porridge, or make your own muesli, much more filling and better excellent for you.
16) Can’t afford to go out to eat, find some like-minded friends that also like healthier food and take it in turns once in a while to eat in each others home. It is fun and you get to go out occasionally.
17) Supplement on a budget Spiralina is a broad spectrum supplement full of a wide variety of nutrients. Buy in powder form it’s cheaper than buying capsules or tablets.
18) Go out during the autumn months and pick blackberries they are free and freeze them. Berries are bursting with plant compounds and anti-oxidants.
19) Wild crafted dandelions – it is very vital you know for sure they have not been sprayed with weed killer. Dig up the whole plant use the fresh leaves in salads or dry the root and the leaves an brilliant tonic for the liver and kidneys.
20) Wild crafted nettles are extremely excellent as a general health tonic, makes really excellent tea. Pick the nettles wearing gloves, then tie them into loose bunches and place the leaves down into a large paper bag this protects the leaves from flies and dust. Then hang these bunches up by their stems. Any leaves that fall off will end up in the bag. It is vital to hang any drying herbs in an area that is dry with air movement, maybe a garage, utility room, laundry room or airing cupboard.

Yoga Diet – A Vegan Treat

The most common topic is about having food and craving for it, but only very few are aware of the fact that the actual intense stout burner is none other than yoga diet. The diet is healthy containing fruits, whole grains and vegetables, that in no way supports gaining weight. As a result, it concentrates more on vegetarian foods and thereby excludes meat, fish and poultry. This is also viewed spiritually as being kind to animals, but it accepts dairy products such as milk, butter, eggs, yogurt and cheese as they are rich in calcium and vitamins required for the body.
Beans and legumes must be incorporated as it makes one of the best yoga diets that have protein and is a must to the body. Hence, it can be included in recipes, salads with beans and lentils, and various other bean dishes such as bean soups, sandwich spreads and lentil salads. Vegetables are the main nutrition in yoga diet and include an array of vegetable dishes comprising of organic and seasonal vegetable dishes such as curries, stews, appetizers, casseroles and entrees. Similarly, water is highly recommended such that a person takes nearly 2 liters of water everyday, and hence incorporating vegetable or fruit juices, coconut milk, rice milk, smoothies, nut milks, soy milks and other beverages that are healthy is preferred.
Foods that can be loved are the best foods of yoga diet and this includes simple digesting foods such as vegetables, fruits, honey, beans, juices, butter and milk. Foods to avoid as per the yoga diet refer to the foods that cannot be easily digested or it can also be considered to be a heavily processed food. This includes several packaged foods made with white sugar or white flour, and also the food that is available in cans and in other packages that are filled with preservatives proclaiming longer shelf life. Another very essential aspect of it is eating the food slowly so that it is digested properly. Simply, pushing down the food into the mouth and swallowing is not the right way of eating, instead enjoying every mouthful and chewing it properly helps in proper digestion and yoga diet.
The primary concern is fitness and health and it is observed that following yoga diet has enormous health benefits than clinging to pills or strict diet regimens. These may be quick fixes, but are certainly temporary solutions, besides resulting in later on side-effects. It keeps a person health and refreshed and this health benefits keeps the mind focused, besides reducing high stress levels and high blood pressure. Yoga diet does not refer to any dry and tasteless food; instead it offers a delectable vegan treat. Mind should be focused as well as open to change so that an individual achieves success and also maintains it permanently.
Yoga diet brings gradual changes and expects to eat many small snacks and meals, instead of having huge meals twice a day as it increases the metabolism. Drinking water before each meal will naturally limit the eating course and drinking 8 glasses of water is a must. Exercise is essential for increasing the fitness levels and peace, besides increasing the self-esteem levels as well as improving the mood. Walking even for ten minutes and taking the stairs whenever possible is ideal to support the yoga diet.
